Christmas Concert

The idea that I have of our performance on the Christmas concert is that we have a multimedia performance. That is, we have images projected on the back curtain of the Auditorium and in the same time, we are on stage. Since the topic of the Christmas concert is "All I want for Christmas..." I propose we have each of us making a wish. So each of us says "All I want for Christmas ...". Not a personal wish (I wouldn't force you to disclose your personal wishes in public) but something that we think would make an impression. Wishes revealing different fates and different personalities.
My plan is, on the screen (projected) we have a close-up of the person that we will shoot beforehand. On the little movie, the person is not talking, he is just looking at the camera (presumably the audience). On stage we have the person, not in a spotlight, who is saying outloud his/her wish. This way we can show how sometimes what we want and what we feel is different from what we show people. We can fit in there some stereotypical thinking as well. For example, if one person may be wishing for his father to come back home, another might want a new iPod if you know what I mean :)

The one gap that I can think of is the ending. Should we just have fading lights and exit, or should we have something more dramatic?

  1. Mkay, I guess I'm the first one to write here. So, as far as I know, the setting is pretty clear to all of us, for which, thhanks, Kris. Now, what I'm concerned about is the text itself - what exactly are we going to say. At the last meeting, I shared my idea, which was that every one of us should chose a role and a controversial one to it, so that there could be a pararel between them. We agreed that the connection is something like shallow - serious. So, what's left is that we have to chose a role to fit in and write her/his own script. probably about 5-6 minutes (Kris, what do you think abou that?). I suggest we all participate in this blog, or nothing would be done at all.

P.S.: About the endind, I'd really like something dramatic, like seeing a person's wish coming true and their reactions + the consequences of the wish coming true. After all, we are a drama club and what we are doing must feel like a play, right x] ? If we do that, we'd probably have to shorten the monologues (<-spelling?) to 1-2 minutes. The problem is that I doubt we would have the time to rehearse all of that, so the chances are we end up with just fading lights.
